There seems no end to the spate of rape incidents in Haryana as a 19-year-old woman from Sonepat was allegedly raped by three people, including the driver of the vehicle she boarded, the police said on Tuesday.

The woman alleged in her police complaint that on February 4, while she was returning from Sonepat city after getting her Aadhaar card ready, three men, along with the driver of the jeep she boarded, took her to the fields nearby and raped her, SHO Sadar Police Station, Sonepat, Inspector Dalbir Singh, said.

A case has been registered against three accused and one of them was arrested, he said, adding further investigation was on.

The incident is another shocker in the state where a 15- year-old girl was gang-raped only a few days back in Jind district.

Earlier in January,  eight rape cases were reported in the week preceding January 19. The state has been at the receiving end of flak for its falling law and order situation.

AMong the victims were a 20-year-old married woman, a 17-year-old Dalit girl, a college student (BA II) and a 3-year-old girl.

A 15-year-old girl’s half-naked body was found at a village in Jind district after she had gone missing from her village in Kurukshetra district. The girl was brutally assaulted, her private parts mutilated and some of the vital organs ruptured.
