Eleven people including two children were crushed to death and more than 10 seriously injured when a pickup vehicle carrying them collided with a truck late last night near Khamaria village in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district in Chhattisgarh.
The tragic incident took place at around 11 pm when the pickup was hit by a truck near school at Khamaria village under Baloda Bazar Police limits. The fatal incident took place when friends and relatives of a Sahu family were returning from a function to their home at Arjuni village. The pickup vehicle carrying them collided with a speeding truck killing 11 people including two kids.
Ten others who were seriously injured have been admitted in different nearby hospitals while two seriously injured have been referred to Raipur, police said. They were returning from a family function at Khilora village.
Collision between the speeding vehicles was so fierce that the pickup vehicle was flung away and was badly crushed, Balauda Bazar SDOP confirmed.
