Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced on Monday that bookings for its utility vehicle Hilux have reopened.
Due to various supply-related factors, the early 2022 model’s bookings have been temporarily halted.
Over the course of five decades and eight generations, Toyota sold more than 20 million Hilux cars around the world in 180 nations.
And depending on the type of version, the model’s ex-showroom price ranges from Rs 33.99 lakh to Rs 36.80 lakh in India. The sturdy Innovative Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) architecture and a powerful powertrain system used in the Hilux give it formidable performance.
This is the first utility vehicle by Japanese automaker Toyota to be sold in India.
According to TKM executives, the Hilux is supported by the same platform as the Innova Crysta and Fortuner.
It has a powerful turbocharged engine that produces 500 Nm of torque, and the piston rings have a diamond-like carbon coating to increase frictional efficiency.
The business said that across all models, the Toyota Hilux would offer the most cutting-edge safety technologies, such as the ABS, EBD, brake assist system, and hill-start assist control.
It has a 2.8 L 4-Cylinder Turbo-Diesel Engine with a 6-Speed Automatic or 6-Speed Manual Transmission and a 700 mm water wading capacity, making it suitable for use on Indian routes.
