Domestic markets, Sensex and Nifty traded higher on Tuesday afternoon, backed by gains in IT, financials, and FMGC stocks.
At 1.50 p.m., the S&P BSE Sensex gained 1,027.75 points or 2.10 per cent to trade at 50,036.25 levels. Similarly, the Nifty50 index was maintaining its 14,800 mark by trading 2.11 per cent or 306.30 points up at 14,813.60 levels.
Power Grid Corp was the top gainer, jumping nearly 4 per cent, followed by Infosys, HCL Tech, HUL, Titan Company, HDFC bank, TCS, and Nestlé trading between 3.6 per cent to 3 per cent.
Of the 30 components on the Sensex, only two were trading in red zone: M&M and Bharti Airtel slipping 0.75 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Similarly, 48 of the 50 components of Nifty50 were trading in green, with UPL, JSW steel, TATA steel, INFY and Power Grid being the top gainers. UPL was trading 6,76 per cent higher.
Meanwhile, Nazara Technologies listed an 84 per cent premium over the issue price of Rs 1,101 on the NSE.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap were trading at 20,117.34– up by 146.97 or 0.74 per cent and 20,438.71– 159.75 or 0.79 per cent higher respectively.
