Applications for the Railway Recruitment Board 2018, or RRB 2018, are on. There are four days left for applicants to apply for the around 99,500 jobs in various groups advertised by the RRB 2018. But the Indian Railways have already received more than 2 crore applications for the jobs advertised.
This means that there are over 200 applicants for a single post.
According to reports, the railways confirmed the receipt of over 2 crore applications and said that it will surely rise given the number of days left.
Indian Railways will conduct online examinations for hiring in about 90,000 posts in group C and group D and for another 9,500 openings in the Railway Protection Force.
There are over 26,000 loco pilot and technicians posts and 62,907 Group D posts open for recruitment.
Reports say that the railways have received over 50 lakh online applications for assistant loco pilots and technicians jobs.
To ensure transparency, the railways plan to give the candidates a window to check their answers after the conclusion of the exams and the results.
The last date for applications was initially kept at 12 March but was later extended to 31 March.
Exams will be held in 15 languages: Hindi, English, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Tamil and Telugu Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Assamese, Malayalam.
Candidates will have to be a 10th class pass or ITI or equivalent trade for Group C and D Posts. For Group A and B Posts, candidates will have to be a graduate or post graduate.
