Ever since OnePlus, a Chinese mobile maker entered the Indian market, it has followed a simple market strategy ~ two launches a year. Another strategy was to launch devices between 30k and 40k, which they did in their previous
launches.

This time, their target seems to be different ~ the Chinese tech giant is eyeing the premium segment, which means direct competition with Samsung and Apple.

They have launched two devices: OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro that
cost Rs 32,999 and Rs 58,999 respectively.

Reviewing OnePlus 7 Pro, there are several things one must know about this premium device: it has the most powerful processor till date, which means it works well in all the conditions; its design is like any premium device; and it has a powerful battery. And not to forget the camera, the phone excelled in this section. It has a commendable rear camera though one can’t say the same about its front slider camera.

Then, the phone has no water resistance, which usually devices in this price category have. Should one buy it? Go ahead, if you can shell out Rs Design and display OnePlus always works honestly when it comes to design. All their previous devices look premium and impressed the user in the first go. The same is true of OnePlus 7 Pro.

It has glass on the front and back, 6.67 inches display and curved edges. It doesn’t have any bezel but it is heavier than its predecessor. Though they have used glass it is not slippery and fits well in the hand. OnePlus 7 Pro has a motorised selfie camera. It means when you click the selfie camera, it will slide out.

The phone has in-display fingerprint scanner that is very accurate and fast. In terms of display, the phone is equipped with 6.67 inch Fluid AMOLED QHD+ display with 3120×1440 pixels and supports HDR 10+. This HDR display will give an oomph feeling while watching movies. Moreover, one won’t face any problem whether in daylight or artificial light.

Specifications and performance
OnePlus is known for its speed. OnePlus 7 Pro is powered with the latest processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8, coupled with Adreno 640 and up to 12GB RAM. It runs on OS Android 9.0 (Pie); OxygenOS 9.5.7. With all these powerful features, the phone really works well when it comes to playing games, working on multiple apps, streaming videos and music. Do anything, you won’t face any problem.

Camera and battery

OnePlus 7 Pro has tri-camera setup at the back: the primary lens is a Sony IMX586 48MP sensor having 3x optical zoom and aperture of f/1.6 with auto focus while secondary camera is a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.2 with optical image stabilization. The third lens is a 16MP ultra-wide sensor having f/2.2. The photos in proper daylight were full of details, no complaints at all here. The front camera houses a Sony IMX471 sensor of 16MP having f/2.0. The pictures are fine, but at night the camera makes a sound while clicking pictures.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has a 4,000mAh battery, which works well and with
a new technology of Warp Charger it charges fully within 40 minutes.
