Full-service international carrier Jet Airways will add more routes to its international operations as well as increase the frequency of its flights to Dubai and Singapore. It will also add more domestic flights to Vadodara and Bengaluru.

The addition of international routes has come amid efforts by the cash-strapped airline to achieve a turnaround. International operations being a lucrative option, Jet Airways is keen on launching international flights to increase profitability. Of late, even low cost carriers have launched international flights.

Jet Airways will be the first Indian carrier to operate a non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester, the third largest city in the UK. The airline will also be the first to connect Pune directly with Singapore thereby catering to leisure and corporate travel. The airline will deploy additional frequencies on the Delhi-Singapore and Delhi-Dubai sectors, as it increases its presence and connectivity between key cities in Southeast Asia and the Gulf.

Meanwhile, full-service carrier, Air Vistara also meets the criteria for operating internationally but is waiting for regulatory approvals before launching into the more profitable market. Low-cost carrier, IndiGo, will also launch flights between Bengaluru and Hong Kong. IndiGo already operates non-stop flights to Colombo, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Male and Phuket.

Beginning 28 October, Jet Airways has also enhanced connectivity from Vadodara, introducing its daily direct, non-stop flight between Vadodara and Delhi along with a new service between Vadodara and Bengaluru. Simultaneously, the airline has launched a new direct daily flight between Delhi and Coimbatore, expanding North-South connectivity.

Jet Airways is India’s premier international airline, currently operating flights to 65 destinations, including India and overseas. Jet Airways’ robust domestic India network spans the length and breadth of the country covering metro cities, state capitals and emerging destinations.

Beyond India, Jet Airways operates flights to key international destinations in South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America. The Jet Airways Group currently has in its fleet 124 aircraft comprising Boeing 777-300 ERs, Airbus A330-200/300, the latest Boeing 737 Max 8, Next Generation Boeing 737s and ATR 72-500/600s.
