The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave ex-post facto approval on the trade agreement between India and Ethiopia for strengthening and promoting trade and economic co-operation between the two countries.
The trade agreement was signed on October 5, during the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Ethiopia from October 4 to 6.
“The trade agreement will replace the existing agreement that was signed in 1982. It will provide for all necessary measures to encourage trade, economic cooperation, investment and technical co-operation,” an official statement said.
