BMW cars achieve 37% growth in 2022 in India

The German automaker, BMW Group, has released the 2022 fiscal year stat for its Indian division. According to the data, the luxury car maker has sold 19,263 vehicles in India

In a statement issued by BMW India, it is revealed that a total of 11,981 cars, combining both BMW and MINI and 7,282 motorcycles were sold last year in India.

The German company has witnessed a hike of 37 per cent in the sales of BMW cars as compared to the same period last year by delivering 11,268 units.

On the other hand, globally popular hatchback car maker — MINI — has sold 713 units.

BMW’’s SUV range, the X1, X3, X5 and X7 along with Sedan ranges like 3,5, and 6 series witnessed high demand.

On the other side,  the Mini-3 door hatchback also saw a jump in sales.  BMW group acquired the iconic Mini in 1996.

BMW’s  India division logged 40 per cent volume growth with 7,282 two wheeler  last year.

BMW Group India entered the electric vehicle segment with a full electric range – the BMW iX electric the BMW i4 electric sedan and the MINI 3-Door Cooper SE electric hatch.

Apart from EVs, recently it was revealed that BMW is also working on a hydrogen-fuel based concept car named BMW iX5. The concept car will be powered by a pair of electric motors. Instead of using stored electrical energy from a battery pack.
