The early trading on Friday saw domestic markets decline as they followed weak global cues and the threat of a Covid increase. Equities in the health sector, such as Granules, Morepen Lab, Thyrocare, and Cipla, rose early on whereas most BSE IT stocks fell during the morning trading period.
At 9.30 am on Friday, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 376 points at 60,450, while the NSE Nifty was down 115 points at 17,995.45.
The morning trade on Asian markets saw the Nikkei in Japan fall by 297 points, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong fall by 35.85 points, and the Shanghai in China rise by two points.
In Europe, the FTSE fell 28 points, the CAC was up, the Deutsche Borse dropped 183 points, and Refinitiv down 2 points.
As Asian markets started on Friday, the Dow Jones was down 348 points, the Nasdaq was down 233 points, and the S&P was down 56 points in American markets.
