Bank Holidays 2019: Holidays are always welcome, but the term, bank holidays, do not always evoke the same emotions. Bank holidays are something that are required to be factored in while planning even regular events of life. So, to facilitate your bank-related activities, we share with you the dates when the banks would be closed in 2019 so that you can carry out your undertakings by planning well in advance.
Listed below is the calendar of bank holidays in India for the year 2019. It is however required to be kept in mind that not every bank observes all the holidays listed here, and that there are only some holidays when all the banks are closed.
There are types of bank holidays — national holidays (also known as gazetted holidays) and government holidays, which are further classified as state government bank holidays and central government bank holidays. In India, there are three national holidays — Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August) and Gandhi Jayanti (2 October). All banks and financial institutions remain shut on these three days.
When it comes to government holidays, central government bank holidays are observed across the country, while state government bank holidays are decided by individual states.
Take a look at the Bank Holidays 2019 in India.
