Springdales DK felicitates alumni on selection for Gaganyaan mission

Acknowledging the outstanding achievements of its distinguished alumni from the 2000 batch, the Springdales School Dhaula Kuan organised a special felicitation ceremony for Indian Air Force Group Captain Angad Pratap, who has been selected by the government for the Gaganyaan mission as one of the four astronauts.

The Gaganyaan is India’s maiden human space flight mission.

Welcoming Group Captain Pratap to his alma mater, Principal Springdales Dhaula Kuan Ritu Madan introduced him as a shining example of what can be achieved through passion, determination, and quest for knowledge.

The school, she declared, celebrates the iconic journey of a Springdalian solitaire from the classroom to soaring high in the sky, to walking up in space.

Starting his address with a quote from famous American poet Robert Frost, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I-I took the one less travelled by”, the IAF group captain advised the students to stay focused, and not look for immediate rewards in life.

“Believe and become, believe in yourself, and work hard to become successful in life”. He called upon the young students to act on the mantra for success in life.

The highlight of the ceremony was the visual presentation ‘Soaring High’ depicting the arduous and illustrious journey of the distinguished alumni of the school, which has been a pioneer in project-based experiential learning promoted by its visionary founder Padma Shri Dr. Rajni Kumar and carried forward by Dr Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales Schools.

The same was reflected through a visual presentation ‘Innovation – Way of Life’ at Springdales featuring the creative endeavours of our budding innovators under STEAM.

While commendations poured in for Pratap from everyone present during the felicitation, Dr. A. Sankara Reddy, Chairman, Managing Board called on the young Springdalians to emulate the distinguished alumni and work hard and inculcate the values of self-control and patience to succeed in life.
