JoSSA 2017 to start from 15 June; counselling rounds increased to 7

The Joint Counselling and Seat Allotment for Admissions or JoSSA 2017 is expected to start from 15 June. According to an official notification, JoSSA 2017 will be conducted in seven rounds and continue till 19 July. The counselling process for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, will also include two mocks eat allotment rounds.

97 institutes are participating in JoSSA 2017, which includes 23 IITS, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs. In 2016, 93 institutes had participated in the joint counseling process. This year, 3 IIITs and 1 GFTIs have been added to the list.

To participate in JoSSA 2017, qualifying candidates have to first register and submit their preferred institutes and programmes. They can lock their choices later.

Once they pay their fees, candidates have to report at the allotted centres for certificate verification. Candidates also have the option to withdraw from their allotted seats till the sixth round of counseling.

Students who have clared either JEE Main or Jee Advanced are eleigible to register for JoSSA 2017. While JEE main candidates will register for the NITs, IIITs and GFTis, those who have cleared JEE Advanced can register for admission to IITs.
