Like other railway staff, the day was special for loco pilot Joydeep Ghosh today. As he took charge of the BEML rake this morning, he was filled with mixed emotions.
He felt happy and proud for playing the crucial role of driving the train with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on board, but a little nervous at the same time, thinking of the huge responsibility. He started the train at 10.20 am with the PM and other guests and completed the ride at around 10.35 am.
After completing the 15-minute journey, he was filled with joy, feeling his 23-year-old railway journey witnessed more meaning today by becoming a part of the historic moment. “I felt very happy after completing the journey.
While crossing the underwater stretch, I was also getting excited seeing the enthusiasm of the people,” said the cheerful driver. “While carrying the PM, I saw him in the cameras and felt proud of the moment,” added the loco pilot.
