More than 1500 devotees from eastern India will take part in the ‘Gita Jayanti Utsav’ at the global headquarters of the ‘International Society for Krishna Consciousness’ at Mayapur in Nadia district from November 28 to 30.

The aim of the Utsav is to spread the message of Bhagavad Gita to all sections of the society, an ISKCON press release said on Saturday.

During the Utsav the devotees will take out a shobha yatra at Mayapur and a seminar on the importance and relevance of practicing the teachings of Gita in the present times will be held.

On November 30 all the 18 chapters of Bhagavat Gita would be recited followed by Yagna for global peace, it said.

The programme will also have a large participation of students who are pursuing courses in the Gita from across the country.
