Trinamul Congress leaders today alleged the BJP of supporting dynastic rule.
Addressing the media Dr Shantanu Sen, former Rajya Sabha member of the party said Prime Minister Modi often talks against dynastic rule, but in reality, his party supports it.
He was talking to the press after Dibyendu Adhikari, former Trinamul Congress MP joined the saffron party this afternoon.
Dibyendu is the brother of Suvendu Adhikari.
Dr Sen said some days ago Soumyendu Adhikari had joined the BJP and is a candidate in the Lok Sabha election.
“Subhendu is Leader of Opposition, his brother is a candidate another brother is a member of BJP and his daughter-in-law is a councillor in Contai Municipality,” he said, adding, “I think Modiji has a myopic vision and cannot see dynastic politics in the Adhikari family. He sees dynastic rule in the opposition parties, but when it comes to BJP, he either looks the other way or overlooks it,” he pointed out.
Asked about the joining of Arjun Singh in BJP, he said, “Singh was with the BJP and today he has formally joined it.”
Asked to comment on the statements of BJP leaders about the Sandeshkhali incident, he said, “Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others. BJP should first look after the double engine states like UP and MP, where atrocities on women have reached alarming proportions before commenting on the incidents on Sandeshkhali.”
