A breach of privilege motion against Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari was submitted to the speaker Biman Banerjee by the ruling party legislator Partha Bhowmik today.

The outcome of the motion on breach of privilege will be known in the next session. Legislator Partha Bhowmik on Friday had allegedly that he was threatened to be “incarcerated” by the Leader of Opposition while being locked in a verbal duel with the Nandigram MLA regarding his father Sisir Adhikari, who is still a Trinamul Congress MP but defected to the BJP.

The outcome on motion on breach of Privilege against Adhikari will be tabled in the next session of the Assembly, when it would assemble, claimed the speaker, while conceding that the motion had already been sent to the privilege committee.

Only yesterday, the state irrigation minister Partha Bhowmik and Mr Adhikari was locked in a heated exchange after the former had taken a dig at the latter, while he was commenting on the two legislators Krishna Kalyani and Biswajit Das, who Adhikari named as turncoats.

Mr Bhowmik wasted no time to pin Adhikari on the issue as he raked up his father Sisir Adhikari’s name, who he claimed too was the “Trinamul turncoat” as he asked him to clarify to which party his father belonged to.
