Members of the West Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce, a trade body of both North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur districts, has said they want BJP MP of Raiganj Debasree Chaudhuri to take steps for the construction of railway tracks between Dalkhola and Raiganj and from Buniadpur to Kaliyaganj, which they said have been pending for quite some time now.
The General Secretary of the WDCC Shankar Kundu has sent a letter to Miss Chaudhuri, requesting her to see to it that funds are allotted in the forthcoming union budget for the construction of the two projects.
“Construction of new tracks in both Dalkhola-Raiganj and Buniadpur of South Dinajpur to Kaliyaganj in North Dinajpur were approved around 15 years ago. However, the Railways has still failed to construct the tracks. Traders and common people would benefit from the tracks. As such, we sent a letter to the JP MP of Raiganj Miss Debasree Chaudhuri today, urging her to take steps to allot funds in the forthcoming union budget for the construction of two much-needed pending new tracks of North Dinajpur,” Mr Kundu said.
