Trinamul Congress today issued show-cause notice on Kunal Ghosh, former state secretary of the party for making statements that have hit the interest of the party.
Mr Ghosh recently resigned from all the posts of Trinamul Congress. He was the spokesperson and state secretary of the party.
Mr Ghosh confirmed the letter of show-cause and said he would reply to the notice. The notice has been issued by Mr Subrata Bakshi, party’s state president.
Incidentally, he was informed about the notice on Monday while he was at the residence of six-time party legislator Tapas Roy, who resigned as the member of the state Assembly as well as from the primary membership of the party. Mr Ghosh, along with state education minister Bratya Basu had been at Mr Roy’s residence to convince him to refrain from taking the decision.
Speaking to the media, Roy also ridiculed the timing for sending Ghosh the letter of show-cause. “Kunal came to my residence on behalf of the party to convince me so that I do not resign. Interestingly, then only the letter of show-cause was issued to him by the party’s state president Subrata Bakshi,” Roy said.
Mr Ghosh had criticized the party’s north Kolkata MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay. Trinamul Congress MLA Tapas Roy had also criticized Mr Bandyopadhyay on similar lines. Mr Roy today resigned as the MLA this morning.
