A remark of Bongaon South BJP MLA Swapan Mallick today fuelled a controversy after he allegedly threatened to set the Asokhnagar police station on fire. He made the statement while he was addressing a meeting there. Trinamul Congress’ North 24 Parganas observer Jyotipriya Mallick said BJP has this kind of political culture and they had earlier attacked BDO office and threatened to beat up staff there with sticks.

Meanwhile BJP national vice president and MP Dilip Ghosh today said if chief minister Mamata Banerjee has such objection to the slogan “Jai Shri Ram” then law should be passed in Assembly to stop it. “In India Jai Shri Ram can be uttered, there no ban on it.

Mamata could bring Bill in Assembly to promulgate for banning Jai Shri Ram chant,” he said. BJP former women wing president Agnimitra Paul strongly condemned a woman police personnel who alleged tried to remove a saree of a protester woman in front of public and posted a video on it in her tweet. “This is the attitude of West Bengal police if women protests in WB.

There is no respect for the MA DURG.As of this state @MamataOfficial is the ONLY ‘BANGLAR MEYE’ Who does ‘VASTRAHARAN’ of the WOMEN of BENGAL is not a mystery anymore Police Minister SHAME!!” she tweeted.
