Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is observing Special Services Fortnight from Monday to 19 February. Various activities are being carried out to commemorate this occasion in the ESIC Regional Office, Kolkata, Sub – Regional Office Barrackpore, ESIC Branch Offices, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Joka and all the hospitals under the ESI Scheme of the state government.
A seminar was organized in the regional office, Kolkata on Monday as the inauguration of the Special Services Fortnight. Saroj Kumar Sahoo, national executive member, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Employers’ additional representative, regional board member, graced the occasion. Cheques related to dependant benefit payment were handed over to the dependants of late IP Manoj Singh and Shib Sankar Malik, who died of employment injury.
Monthly pension up to 90% of basic salary of the deceased workers is provided to dependent family members under the dependent benefit scheme of ESIC. The regional director has also informed that health check-up camps, Aadhaar seeding camps, health talks, cleanliness drive, yoga and AYUSH camp and Suvidha Samagam for grievance redressal of insured persons will be organized during the fortnight.
