Countering Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee’s announcement to launch a campaign to recover black money allegedly from the BJP, senior BJP leader Mukul Roy today said Banerjee herself has huge black money in her possession.

The campaign should then be directed at her first, Roy claimed that the TMC chief has became a spent force. “ Banerjee possesses a large amount of black money and she should return them first and then demand it,” Roy said.

Reacting Banerjee’s demand for reintroduction of ballot paper instead of EVM machines for the upcoming civic polls and Assembly election, he said Banerjee won election from 2011-16 and poll was conducted through EVMs but she did not raise any question of manipulation at that time.

“If EVM machines were manipulated then Banerjee won the election immorally and she should admit it first and she must demand reelection for those terms. But she did not do anything. In reality, she wants rigging and proxy vote to assure the winning of the TMC in upcoming civic election and Assembly poll with the help of police,” Roy said.

Former TMC vice president said it is clear that people have rejected Mamata Banerjee and her party and her popularity is fading away very fast that reason she called poll strategist to augment the strategy to win the 2021 West Bengal assembly polls.

“Mamata is no more the icon of TMC. So it requires poll strategist to prevent defeat in 2021 poll and party now got a new chairperson (without mentioning the name of Prashant Kishor),” he said.

The Trinamul Congress has roped in poll strategist Kishor to seek his assistance to augment the strategy to win the 2021 West Bengal Assembly polls. Prashant Kishor, also known as ‘Chanakya of Indian politics.’

Roy’s remark came after several reports claimed that Kishor was holding a meeting with district presidents and secretaries. Mocking Kishor, the former Railway minister, had said that no political strategist can stop the ouster of the TMC.

Meanwhile CPI-M leader and MLA Sujan Chakraborty criticised chief minister for not raising the pay scale of agitating primary school teachers.

“Banerjee today promised Zila Parishad members for augmenting their grants during a meeting at Nabanna but ignoring to raise the pay scale of primary teachers. Actually she is trying to lure Zila Parishad and gram panchayat members as they would not leave TMC. However it will be her vain effort as TMC party is going to extinct,” he said. State education minister Partha Chatterjee earlier said the government cannot raise the pay scale of agitating primary school teachers to the level demanded by them as it will incur a huge expense on the state exchequer. As a resuly the indefinite fast of a section of primary school teachers entered the nine day on Monday.
