In a bid to ensure seamless travel and accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims attending Mahakumbh, the Railway operated special trains including 76 pairs of reserved and unreserved Kumbh Mela Special trains from key stations by the Eastern Railway and 24 pairs by South eastern Railway.

Moreover, a total of 152 trips of Maha Kumbh special trains originated from key stations of Eastern Railway, while eight trips of Maha Kumbh special trains passed through major stations of Eastern Railway along with 16 pairs of regular trains running over SER jurisdiction with stoppage at Prayagraj.

In order to facilitate the pilgrims, the railway made arrangements at major stations along with additional help desks, drinking water, cleanliness, first aid, and other necessary facilities at the stations to ensure that passengers.
