In his address, PM Modi highlighted a slew of developmental projects worth over Rs 22,000 crore, aimed at bolstering West Bengal’s infrastructure and fostering economic growth. However, amid the backdrop of progress, PM Modi expressed deep concern over the governance in the state, alleging a pattern of oppression, autocracy, corruption, and nepotism. He highlighted the disappointment among the people of West Bengal, citing a perceived betrayal of trust and a lack of inclusive development under the current administration.
PM Modi cited the case of obstruction faced in establishing the first AIIMS in West Bengal. Despite assurances, hurdles, particularly regarding environmental permissions, impeded the progress of the Kalyani AIIMS project.
The PM reiterated the BJP’s commitment to healthcare improvement in the state, emphasizing the significant expansion of government medical colleges over the past decade. He pledged continued efforts to enhance healthcare facilities, underscoring the BJP’s dedication to the welfare of West Bengal’s youth.
Turning to the jute industry, PM Modi praised the BJP government’s initiatives to revive jute cultivation and industry, including the mandatory use of jute bags for packaging essential commodities. He hailed the positive impact of these measures on jute mills and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the sector.
PM Modi also criticized the TMC government’s alleged failure to effectively implement central schemes aimed at women’s safety and empowerment, citing instances such as the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign and the ‘Ujjwala’ scheme.
He called upon party workers to disseminate his message of progress and change to every corner of West Bengal.
