BJP’s co-in-charge of the West Bengal unit and national convener of IT cell Amit Malviya today said a parallel government is being run from Diamond Harbour Parliamentary constituency to highlight poor Covid management in West Bengal.
Mr Malviya tweeted this after Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday again took to social media to promote his “Diamond Harbour model”, in which it has been highlighted that despite its close proximity with Gangasagar and Calcutta, Diamond Harbour maintains a positivity rate (percentage of total samples testing positive for Covid-19) below 3 per cent.
“Instead of incessantly writing to the PM, Mamata Banerjee must check on the parallel Govt being run from Diamond Harbour. After WB Health Dept ran down Abhishek’s claims, a daily update on his constituency is sent to media to highlight how poor Covid management in rest of WB is!” Mr Malviya tweeted today.
Meanwhile BJP’s national vice president Dilip Ghosh today said chief minister Mamata Banerjee is playing a drama over UP Assembly polls. TMC announced that the party will campaign for Akhilesh Yadav instead fielding any candidates for upcoming Assembly poll in UP. “In 2019 Akhilesh Yadav and other party leaders came before election and joined a political rally. What happened next in UP, Akhilesh lost several seats and other parties returned empty handed,” said Mr Ghosh.
