One held in connection with murder of industrialist

Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested one Ranjan Roy from Durgapur in Paschim Burdwan district in connection with the murder case of industrialist Brijesh Chourasia (46) and his 16 year old daughter, Mahima, inside a SUV about seven days ago in Sagar.

A police mobile team spotted the father and the daughter lying in a pool of blood while the mother, Radha who was sitting on the backseat was lying in an unconscious state. No weapons were found from the spot.

Madhya Pradesh police did not found any cell phones of the victims from the car, which was lying beside RTO office in Patharia Road, under Civil Lines Police Station, according to Sagar district police superintendent, Amit Sanghi. The bullets had been fired from point blank range. The girl was a class ten student, police said.

MP Police traced Ranjan Roy through mobile tower locations of one of the missing cell phones of the victims, according to MP police officer Gourav Sharma.

“We will take him to Sagar after securing transit remand and will interrogate him further to know the exact details,” he added.

The double murder incident has rocked Bhopal since the past one week, police sources said.

Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate assisted the MP police team to nab the accused Ranjan Roy from the crowded Benachity area of Durgapur.

His arrest has created a sensation at the steel township of Durgapur.
