Integrated tickets for three Metro corridors to be sold from counters only

With Metro services on the three newly inaugurated stretches of Green Line, Orange Line and Purple Line having started from Friday, the Metro authorities have put in place an Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) so that any commuter can switch to any corridor (Green, Blue and Orange) through the interchanging stations of Esplanade and Kavi Subhash by purchasing tickets once.

The Metro authorities in a Press statement said the integrated ticket is sold from the counters only. No Integrated Ticket will be sold from the ASCRM machines of any station of Green Line, Blue Line and Orange Line. It said AFC-PC gates of all Metro stations have been upgraded accordingly. At present, no integrated ticket for the Purple Line is available.

Apart from the integrated tickets, commuters will also be able to travel with Mobile QR Code tickets purchased using Metro Ride Kolkata App and Paper Based QR Code tickets on Howrah Maidan to Esplanade stretch of Green Line only. They can also use the existing Smart Cards in availing Metro services on these three newly inaugurated stretches.

Since the last service on the Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch of Orange Line leaves the terminal stations at 4.40 p.m, the sale of integrated tickets for this corridor from all station counters of Howrah Maidan to Esplanade stretch of Green Line is stopped from 3.30 p.m, the statement added.
