The integrated ticketing system (ITS), enabling commuters to avail services in all the three recently-inaugurated lines of the Kolkata Metro Railway at one ticket will be available only till 3.30 pm, informed the city Metro today.

The commercial services in the newly-added lines, including the underwater stretch between Howrah Maidan and Esplanade are to start tomorrow.

The city Metro has introduced an integrated ticketing system of tickets that would allow the commuters avail services and switch to any corridor including Green, Blue and Orange through the interchanging stations at Esplanade and Kavi Subhash by purchasing tickets once. One of the truncated stretches that are to see the beginning of commercial services tomorrow is the first leg of the New Garia-Airport corridor between Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay. The stretch is to have the first service at 9am while the last service would be run at 4.40pm. Considering the fact, the Kolkata Metro Railway would stop the sale of integrated tickets from all station counters from 3.30pm.

Apart from this, the ITS is to be issued only from the ticket counters. The integrated tickets would not be issued from the Automatic Smart Card Recharge Machines (ASCRM) machines of any station of Green Line, Blue Line and Orange Line. The advanced ticketing system would also not be available for the Purple Line. The carrier is said to have upgraded the AFC-PC gates at the stations accordingly. The commuters, however, would be able to use the existing smart cards for availing Metro services on these three newly inaugurated stretches.
