A high school student lost his life while attempting the Higher Secondary board exams on Tuesday in Murshidabad.

Sources said that Pritam suddenly fell ill upon entering the examination centre.

The candidate was swiftly taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Pritam, a dedicated student from Muralipukur High School, was known for his academic excellence since childhood.

Today’s history exam was scheduled to take place at Aurangabad High School, where Pritam arrived well-prepared with his father. However, he fell critically ill at the exam centre entrance, leading to his untimely demise.

His father said, “He spoke to me earlier in the morning, insisting on attending the exam even while he felt unwell. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated rapidly upon entering the centre. We rushed him to Hishail Block Health Centre, where doctors pronounced him brought-dead. I had advised him not to take the exam if he felt unwell, but he didn’t listen to me. As he entered the exam hall, he suddenly collapsed. I hurriedly took him to the health centre, but it was too late.”
