The alleged ruckus in the court of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha of the Calcutta High Court on Monday allegedly by a section of the lawyers has angered governor CV Ananda Bose, leading him to talk tough. Stunned by the sudden turn of events at the high court a miffed governor on Tuesday summoned the BP Gopalika and the city police commissioner Vineet Goyal to do some plain talking as a source.

Bose made it clear that “in no way could the Judiciary be intimidated and nor should it be allowed in any way”. The source also claimed that the governor also wanted to know whether the alleged posters that were put up on walls near the residence of the justice Mantha had been removed. Bose expressed content in response from the duo nonetheless but he believed to have told the duo that he would inform the matter to the Centre and in the same vein, he advised the two officials to guard against any leniency against such act in near future.

While expressing his ire against the developments he is also believed to have told the duo that the way the protests had been staged presented a disturbing scene, which could hardly be found anywhere in the world. Should they have any reservation against the orders, they were at their liberty to move the higher court. Consequently he had asked both the secretary and the CP, to ensure stepping up security for Justice Mantha.
