As a part of station modernisation initiatives, the Eastern Railway is installing train indication boards (TIB) at 40 key stations across the Howrah division. The infrastructure upgrade, according to the ER, aims to enhance passenger experience by providing real-time information on train schedules, platform numbers, delays, and cancellations. These boards are positioned at strategic points across the stations, ensuring passengers can easily access crucial travel updates without confusion or unnecessary crowding. Beyond convenience, the initiative is also to play a crucial role in passenger safety by offering clear and timely updates. The TIBs would help manage crowds, minimize last-minute rushes, and reduce congestion at platforms. In addition, it is also anticipated to benefit passengers during peak travel hours, allowing for a safer and more organized station environment.

As learnt, the TIB installation initiative is to cover stations including Belmuri, Diara, Gurap, Palla Road, Dainhat, Dhatrigram, Khamargachi, Patuli, Srirampur, Rishra, Konnagar, Sheoraphuli, Belur Math, Liluah, Hooghly, Agradwip, Lakshmipur, Bhandartikuri, Bagnapara, Behula, Somrabazar, Balagarh, Dumurdaha, Kuntighat, Arambagh, Mayapur, Bahirkhanda, Sainthia, Bolpur, Pakur, Rampurhat, Madhusudanpur, Porabazar, Shibaichandi, Hazigarh, Jhapandanga, Gobra, Janai Road, Mirzapur Bankipur, among others.
