CPI-M politburo member and state general secretary Muhammad Salim today condemned “indiscriminate” lathicharge on CPI-M supporters at Nandakumar in East Midnapore. He said now Trinamul Congress government which is cornered by people in rural areas over corruption on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Gramin) let loose the police to prevent movements against deprivation of legitimate benefits of the people.

A clash broke out between police and CPI-M supporters aftet the latter organised movements over corruption PMAY(Gramin) last night, in which 100 supporters of CPIM were injured. The CPI-M alleged that the president of the local panchayat samity led the operation in which police were let loose to attack the CPI-M supporters unprovoked. “Police unleashed attack even on women.

They entered the party office of the CPI-M and they vandalised it like goons by destroying furniture and other office properties,” said Mr Salim. He claimed the TMC-led panchayat demanding Rs 1000 from each beneficiary from Bhgabanpur to Islampur. “Current Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari and chief minister both opened this money collection company to collect cut money and bribe from rural people for providing benefit of PMAY-G scheme.

Even our district secretary Niranjan Sihi was beaten up last night and dragged from the party office as he protested against it, ” said Mr Salim. Mr Salim said BJP and RSS jointly shouted “Jai Shri Ram” at the Railway programme which was an unpardonable offence durning any government programme despite chief minister Mamata Banerjee being present there and PM was virtually giving speech. “However this is an old unpopular script as TMC shouted slogans to counter BJP RSS cadres’s slogans in Union government programmes to draw the wool before people’s eyes because they are opposite sides of the same coin,” he said.
