Cong constitutes election panel for West Bengal

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has constituted an election committee for the party’s West Bengal unit. The committee will be headed by senior party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury as chairman, as per a communiqué issued by Congress general secretary in-charge of organization KC Venugopal on Monday.

Among other members of the panel included Pradip Bhattacharya, Deepa Dasmunsi, DP Roy, Maya Ghosh and Abdul Manan. Party’s state presidents of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and NSUI will be the ex-officio members of the committee besides chief organizer of the Seva Dal. “Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal of the constitution of the Pradesh Election Committee of West Bengal Pradesh Committee with immediate effect,” said Venugopal.
