Bengal hikes salaries of CM, ministers, MLAs

The state government increased the monthly salary of the chief minister, ministers and MLAs with a uniform hike of Rs 1000 as daily allo – wance (DA) for each of them.

As per the revised DA, a minister will get Rs 3000 instead of the existing Rs 2000 every day while for a MLA it will be Rs 2000 from Rs 1000. Following this move, ministers and MLAs will draw Rs 30,000 DA each every month.

The salary of the chief minister Miss Mamata Banerjee shot up to Rs 1,17,001 that includes her principal remuneration Rs 27,001 and increased DA Rs 90,000 per month. The existing salary of the CM is around Rs 87,000 including the old DA Rs 60,000.

A cabinet minister who used to draw Rs 82,000 will now get Rs 1,12,000 every month including existing principal remuneration and Rs 90,000 revised DA.

A minister of state will get Rs 1,11,900 including the DA Rs 90,000. Each MLA will now be entitled to draw Rs 81,870 including principal Rs 21,870 and increased DA Rs 60,000.
