Abhishek writes on success of Sebaashray camps

The Sebaashray camps, an initiative of Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamul Congress Diamond Harbour MP and party’s national general secretary has received overwhelming response.

On the sixth day, the single-day registrations crossed 20,000 with total registrations going up to 81,471.

A staggering 58,582 people received free medical camps in 41 camps that have been opened in the area. The camps will be on for 10 days. The camps will be set up in all the seven Assembly constituencies that fall under Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat. After this there will be follow-up camps for five days.

It is learnt that 32,582 people received free diagnostic tests while 30,049 people were given free medicines. An elderly person, who had suffered a stroke at one of the camps, was admitted to Diamomd Harbour Medical College. A nine-year-old boy was admitted to a private healthcare establishment with heart ailment.

Mr Banerjee expressed happiness over the way the camps have been conducted. He maintained that the people have the right to health care and felt that every political leader should take such initiatives.

For the first time since its inception, the health camps in Diamond Harbour have SURPASSED 20,000 registrations, with a total of 22,889 patients served in a day. To date, 81,471 individuals have received life-changing, free healthcare services through this initiative.

SEBAASHRAY has grown far beyond its original mission of providing medical check-ups, diagnostic tests and medicines. It has become a symbol of hope, offering a better quality of life to the people of Diamond Harbour.

This achievement is just the beginning of an even greater impact to come!”
