Abhishek to chair meet on 16 Feb with party leaders

In a significant development, Trinamul Congress national general secretary and party’s second in command Abhishek Banerjee is set to convene a meeting with all Trinamul members of parliament, MLAs, district, and block chairpersons in the state.

The virtual meeting, scheduled for 16 February, will be chaired by Abhishek Banerjee. The primary agenda of the meeting is reported to revolve around the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with discussions expected to focus on the party’s strategies and potential candidates. Notably, the Trinamul chairperson, Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee had a closed-door meeting on Tuesday.

Addressing concerns about his candidacy in the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency, Abhishek Banerjee clarified that he will not step outside the electoral arena. The state president, Subrata Bakshi, also emphasized that Abhishek would play a crucial role in the upcoming elections, aligning with Mamata Banerjee’s leadership.

Abhishek’s commitment to the Diamond Harbour constituency remains unwavering.

In preparation for the crucial meeting on 16 February, Abhishek is said to have already held discussions with TMC leaders at Mamata Banerjee’s residence in Kolkata. The engagement is perceived as the beginning of the dialogue to iron out differences and set the stage for the upcoming electoral battle. According to TMC sources, the meeting will not only include members of parliament, MLAs, and district chairpersons but also block chairpersons from every corner of the state. This comprehensive engagement aims to finalize the party’s strategy and candidate list ahead of the upcoming elections.

In anticipation of the meeting, Trinamul is expected to release the final list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, indicating a comprehensive approach towards the electoral battle.
