Addressing a mammoth gathering at Chinsurah this afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the glorious days when Bengal showed the way to the entire nation and lamented that today Bengal is known for misrule, corruption, lawlessness and atrocities on women. The time has come to bring back the lost glory of Bengal, the Prime Minister said.
The vote bank politics and appeasement policies started by the Congress, then carried forward by the Left Front and now carried on by the TMC have ruined Bengal, the PM said. The entire development policy is guided by vote-bank politics and appeasement, he said. Mr Modi said the nation is shocked by the heap of currency notes recovered from the houses of TMC leaders. “The Sandeshkhali incident has caused anxiety for the women of Bengal. They feel insecure and are under constant fear of TMC-backed goons. The people are deprived of their constitutional rights. TMC is now well known as gondogol party (trouble making party), Jomi dakhol and Ghore Bomb, even children are not safe at home.
TMC have destroyed the society,” Mr Modi said. The prime minister added the central government beneficiary schemes if properly implemented in the state can bring development in every sector, benefitting people ftom the grassroot level but TMC is power and vote hungry. It does not respect the true mandate of the people.
It instills fear and terror among the people to grab their votes, he said. The prime minister urged the people to punish the TMC by voting in favour of BJP since a strong Bengal can ensure a strong stable BJP government at the Centre. Mr Modi said a strong BJP in Bengal will bring back its glory days, industrial and agricultural development, jobs for youth, cottage industry for women and safety and security for all. The PM urged the BJP party workers to ensure word of Modi’s guarantee reaches every door step. Mr Modi from Chinsurah headed towards Arambagh to address another election campaign meeting. The BJP has four MLAs in Arambagh Sub-Division and is pulling out all the stops to to win the Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency
