Amid the rift between the Congress leadership in Kerala and party Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, senior Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who heads the disciplinary panel of the Congress state committee, on Saturday said that the committee did not receive any specific complaint regarding Tharoor’s recent tour and so there was no need to give him any individual direction in this regard.
Speaking to media persons here, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said: “We did not receive any complaint in connection with Tharoor’s recent Malabar tour and so there was no need to give him any individual direction in this regard.”
However, the Disciplinary Committee has come out with a strict direction that none in the party should indulge in parallel politics. Meanwhile, amid reports that KPCC President K Sudhakaran won’t attend the state conference of All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) to be held in Kochi on Sunday, it is now informed that he (Sudhakaran) will participate in the function online. It has been explained that the KPCC president is not participating in the function directly due to health reasons. Shashi Tharoor is the national president of AIPC
Earlier, it was reported that Sudhakaran would not participate in the event in the backdrop of the rift between KPCC leadership and Tharoor. This has become a matter of serious discussion in the political circles and following this Sudhakaran decided to participate in the function through online mode.
If Sudhakaran participates in the function directly, he will have to share a stage with Tharoor at the inaugural session to be held at 9.30 am on Sunday. Though Opposition leader VD Satheesan will attend the function, he won’t share the same stage with Shashi Tharoor. Tharoor will participate in the inaugural function held in the morning and Satheesan will attend the Leaders’ Forum in the evening.
