For first time KCR’s family stays away from polls
The former Chief Minister or his family member fought every Parliament and Assembly election since 2004.
While Malla Reddy’s son claimed that IT officials admitted him to a hospital and took signatures forcibly, the IT official complained that a laptop and a mobile phone were snatched away by the minister.
After three days of raids by Income Tax Department officials on the properties of Telangana minister Malla Reddy, two complaints were registered at the Bowenpally police station, one by the department, the other by the minister’s son Mahender Reddy.
While Mahender Reddy claimed that IT officials admitted him to a hospital and later on, took some signatures forcibly, the IT department official complained that a laptop and a mobile phone were snatched away by the minister who denied the charge that they were obstructed and abused while conducting the raids.
Later, talking to the media, Malla Reddy accused the Modi Government at the Centre of harassing him with 50 IT teams and described it as a tyranny unleashed on them. Upset over the large-scale raid, he asked: “Am I a smuggler? Am I involved in hawala business? I run educational institutions.”
