‘Too premature’: BAI rejects reports about appointing foreign coaches
The media reports claimed that BAI appointed Irwansyah as the new singles coach for the men and women while Tan Him Ker was roped in as the doubles coach for both categories.
PV Sindhu is alive in the competition and with her, the hopes of India bagging a gold medal at the World Championships are alive as well as she has secured a place in the finals. Sindhu cruised to win over World No 3 Chen Yufei of China in straight games 21-7, 21-14 in the semi-final of the ongoing edition of the World Championship in Basel, Switzerland on Saturday.
Notably, Sindhu is already the joint-most successful shuttler in the women’s singles category of this tournament. Now with Sindhu in the finals already, a silver medal is rest assured but she will have her eyes on the coveted gold medal.
The Indian shuttler only needed 40 minutes to complete the match and storm her way into the finals. She looked sharp and determined from the first game itself while her opponent always seemed to be trailing behind in the entire match. Sindhu bagged the first game in just 15 minutes and won the second game with ease.

The win has ensured that she maintains a 100 per cent win record against the Chinese shuttlers in World Championships having won all six of her matches against her Chinese opponents in this tournament.
In the finals on Sunday, she will play the winner of the other semi-final match between former champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and Nozomi Okuhara of Japan being played on Saturday at Basel.
