“I started training for the UEFA B Coaching License in 2013, now I want to finish it and then go on to get the UEFA A license.
“In a year and a half, if everything goes well, I’ll be ready to lead a team. Sir Alex Ferguson had predicted at the time that two of his players would become coaches of a high level: Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra.”
Notably, Evra had started his career with Italian teams Marsala and Monza before being a part of six consecutive seasons in France with Nice and Monaco. It was his performance with Monaco that attracted the then Manchester United manager Ferguson, who later drafted him to the United squad in 2006.
Evra went on to become one of the best left-back players in European football as he spent seven-and-a-half years with Manchester United. During his stint, he won five Premier League titles as well as the 2007-08 Champions League.
Evra then joined Juventus in 2014 and won two Serie A titles before he rejoined Marseille.
Evra also received attention for his social media antics- the highlight remains a video posted on Instagram in which he puts a raw chicken leg in his mouth. The video was apparently meant as a Thanksgiving message.
