PWD formally offers 6 Flag Staff Road bungalow to CM Atishi
According to sources, a PWD offer letter says the director of allotment is pleased to offer the general pool bungalow, 6 Flag Staff Road, to CM Atishi.
The concerned Superintending Engineers have been directed to monitor the matter regularly while zonal chief engineers and chief engineers (headquarters ) have been asked to carry out periodic inspection and obtain reports on implementation of the same.
The state Public Works Department (PWD) has directed engineers of all its divisions to put up proper signage and markings on all roads under its area of responsibility.
The department has also directed putting up cautionary signs, informatory signs, signage on facility information, signs for disabled persons, route marker signs and other useful information signs wherever needed.
The jurisdiction of the roads should be properly indicated at an interval of 2.5 km on both the sides, the department has further directed.

“There should be proper road marking as per Indian Roads Congress (IRC) Codal provision on every road. Roads should also be fixed with cat’s eye in line with IRC provisions,” read the notification issued by principal secretary, PWD Arnab Roy.
The notification comes after the matter of inadequate signage and markings on PWD roads in different parts of the state was brought up during the monthly meeting held in June.
“Concerned divisions will incorporate the signages and markings while preparing estimates for any improvement works. All markings and signages will also be provided in existing roads wherever required unless it has already been done in the respective roads,” the notification stated.
