Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday escalated his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rafale deal, and said it seemed the PM had “fled” his “open book Rafale exam” in Parliament and was instead lecturing students in Punjab.
On Wednesday, Gandhi had said Modi faced an open book exam on the deal in Parliament and asked if he would show up at the exam or send a proxy. He had also tweeted four questions related to the Rafale deal and demanded answers from the PM.
“So it seems our PM has fled Parliament & his own open book Rafale exam & is instead lecturing students at Lovely University in Punjab, today,” Gandhi tweeted on Thursday, urging students at Lovely University to ask the PM to answer the four questions posed by him.
On Wednesday, Gandhi had tweeted, “Here are the exam questions in advance: Q1. Why 36 aircraft, instead of the 126 the IAF needed? Q2. Why 1,600 Cr instead of 560 Cr per aircraft. Q4. Why AA instead of HAL? Will he show up? Or send a proxy?”
In a follow-up tweet, he added another question, terming it “The Missing Q3!”.
“I had held back Q3 because Madam Speaker had said, ‘no talking about the Goa tape’! But the missing Q3 has become as controversial as Rafale:) So on popular demand:
Q3. Modi Ji, please tell us why Parrikar Ji keeps a Rafale file in his bedroom & what’s in it?” Gandhi posted.
The Congress chief attack came after Modi went to Punjab to inaugurate the 106th edition of the Indian Science Congress (ISC) and address its inaugural session.
Modi is also scheduled to address a public rally in Guradaspur.
