SJVN declares Rs 864.56 cr dividend for 2017-18

The Company has already paid an interim dividend of Rs 200.45 crore in March 2018 to the Himachal Pradesh government, which is holding 26.85 per cent equity in the company.

Satluj Jal Vidhyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited, Central Public Sector Undertaking under Ministry of Power on account of its annual financial performance has paid a total dividend of Rs 864.56 crore for its shareholders for the financial year 2017-18.

The Company has already paid an interim dividend of Rs 200.45 crore in March 2018 to the Himachal Pradesh government, which is holding 26.85 per cent equity in the company.

SJVN, Chairman and Managing Director, Nand Lal Sharma SJVN handed over the final dividend cheque for FY 2017- 18 of Rs 21.10 crore to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur at Shimla.

While handing over the cheque to the Chief Minister, Nand Lal Sharma informed him that Government of Himachal Pradesh has invested an equity of Rs 1,055.01 crore in SJVN and with this dividend payment, SJVN has paid a cumulative dividend of Rs 1485.06 crore to Government of Himachal Pradesh till date.

During the meeting Nand Lal Sharma thanked CM for allocating 780 MW Jhangi Thopan Hydro Electric Project to SJVN.

He apprised CM that SJVN has all the requisite resources and expertise to execute hydro projects in typical Himalayan Geology and ensured that SJVN will make all efforts to complete the project as early as possible.

He also said that Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and besides executing projects in Himachal Pradesh.

SJVN is executing projects in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand, he said, adding that also, SJVN has forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power.

The Company is presently generating around 2003.2 MW of electricity from its operational projects that include 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project, 38 MW Sadla Wind Power Project and 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station.
