Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said appropriate action would be taken against state Congress chief Ashok Tanwar on the basis of report from the special investigation team (SIT) constituted to probe the death of a newborn during the cycle rally organised by the Congress leader.
The minister said, according to the report, the newborn died due to delay in reaching hospital as the ambulance got stuck in jam caused by the cycle rally organised by Tanwar.
Vij said that statements of parents of the newborn, ambulance driver and doctors were recorded. They have admitted that the ambulance was stuck in jam that day due to cycle rally and reached the Civil Hospital late by about half-an-hour.
For this, Haryana Congress chief Tanwar should admit his fault, Vij said adding the ambulance and hospital had all facilities therefore he cannot escape the allegation being levelled against him.
Appropriate action would be taken based on the report from SIT constituted for this purpose, the minister said. He said the Congress had always been lying without understanding the truth behind facts.
