Prakash Raj, who is a staunch critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah, on Saturday made a sardonic remark on the party’s inability to prove numbers to save government in Karnataka.

In a tweet, Raj said that “Karnataka is not going to be saffron but will continue to be colorful. Match over before it began, forget 56 they couldn’t hold on 55 hours”.

While asking people to brace themselves for “muddy politics”, Raj added that he will continue to stand for the citizens.

Prakash Raj has been at loggerheads with the BJP and has frequently criticised the party leaders for their polices. Earlier, when asked at an event that is he anti-Hindu, the actor-cum-activist had replied that he was anti-Modi, anti-Amit Shah and anti-Hegde.

The outspoken actor had also alleged that there has been no film offers from Hindi film industry after he spoke out against PM Narendra Modi and the BJP.

Raj had alleged that he was the first actor to speak against PM Modi in October after the murder of Gauri Lankesh, since then Bollywood has stopped offering him roles in the industry.

Following BS Yeddyurappa resignation two-days after he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, the opposition, Congress while celebrating their success had said that India’s democratic spirit will always triumph over tyranny.

Earlier, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi in a press conference had alleged that the Prime Minister gave a free hand for buying MLAs when BJP was in need of eight more legislators to win the trust vote in the Karnataka Assembly.

“PM Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah do not respect any institution. The PM authorised buying of MLAs. He talks of fighting corruption, but he is corruption,” Rahul Gandhi told reporters.

Asserting that the BJP doesn’t respect institutions, he said, “People saw how BJP MLAs left the House before national anthem was played. It shows they don’t respect institutions.”
