Guwahati to host FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship on Sun
Set in the midst of a rubber plantation, the rally promises a challenging ride through hilly terrain, with steep inclines and sudden dips, making it a true test for the riders.
Vice President of India Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu on Monday arrived in Guwahati with a three-day tour program to Assam and Meghalaya.
He was extended warm welcome at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in the morning hours by the Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi, State minister Rihon Daimary, State chief secretary TY Das, State police chief Mukesh Sahai, city police commissioner Hiren Nath and Kamrup district magistrate Virendra Mittal were also present among others on the occassion.
From the LGBI airport the Vice President leaves for Shillong, where he addressed 9th convocation of Indian Institute of Management.

In presence of Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad, State home minister James K. Sangma with other dignitaries, Naidu commented that complete degeneration of values and the absence of fear of law are obviously leading to deviant and crooked behavior among the people. He further said that it is important to adhere to values of honesty, integrity, truthfulness and adopt the best practices.
Corporate ethics should not be violated, said the Vice President adding that the students should remember the seven sins mentioned by Mahatma Gandhi namely wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, religion without sacrifice and politics without principle.
The VP said that the qualities like gratitude, empathy and concern for fellow human beings seem to be missing in the modern world of materialism and consumerism.
The quality of product, efficient service and ethical business practices are the hallmark of a positive global brand. “Every decision taken by you as a thought leader should bear testimony to these qualities,” he added.
Naidu is scheduled to return to Assam to attend a function in Jorhat on Tuesday and will arrive in Guwahati in the evening.
He is expected to leave for New Delhi on 18 April after attending a function at Srimanta Sankardev international auditorium in the city.
