Lewandowski scores brace as Barca thrash Real Madrid in Clasico
The win lifts Barca six points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and also means Real Madrid's run of 42 La Liga games without defeat comes to an end, reports Xinhua.
Clearly, the 32-year-old believes that just because you’re at the top, doesn’t mean you can stop.
Sergio Ramos may have reached the very top of the footballing pyramid, but the Real Madrid skipper isn’t thinking of slowing down anytime soon, as is evident by a workout video uploaded by the 32-year-old on his Instagram handle.
As he served a one-match suspension due to accumulation of yellow cards, Ramos watched Los Blancos’ UEFA Champions League clash with Juventus at the Santiago Bernabeu from the stands and perhaps thats why he could afford to get an extra gym session done.
While there were controversies galore as Real scraped past Juventus 4-3 on aggregate despite losing the second leg 1-3 at home, Ramos found himself in the mix of a strange one despite not playing in the tie.
Since he was suspended for the tie, he watched the majority of the clash from the stands but as Juventus launched an improbable comeback, the centre-back thought his presence in the dugout would help his team stave off the Italians.
However, a player who has been suspended is not allowed to take to the pitch under any circumstances and then Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso was given a one-match suspension for coming onto the field during Real’s 2014 triumph in the Champions League Final as well.
As Ramos did not enter the pitch, the matter is in a grey area and UEFA are yet to officially announce whether they will be launching an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League semi-finals draw take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland from 1100 GMT/16.30 IST onwards.
