Somy Ali opens up about Deepika Padukone facing mockery over depression
Actress and activist Somy Ali has recently opened up about the challenges Deepika Padukone faced during her battle with depression.
Gorgeous diva Deepika Padukone debuted in Hollywood with Vin Diesel in XXX: Return of Xander Cage and gave a terrific performance while portraying the character of Serena Unger.
While we did not hear of Deepika’s any other Hollywood project since the release of the 2017 movie, the news is coming up now that she may soon sign another film.
Since the Vishal Bharadwaj film in which she was to work alongside Irrfan Khan has been postponed, with Irrfan Khan undergoing treatment for the neuroendocrine tumor, Deepika is now free for the time being to work in Hollywood.

Earlier, on working in Hollywood, she had said, “I am very well aware of my home and my roots, so that’s never going to change. I look at it (working in Hollywood) as an extension of my creativity and the ability to work in a different environment with different people.’’
She also added, “But I think that the people in the film industry come together to tell amazing stories to touch and influence lives through the work that we do and that was one such opportunity for me.’’
Currently, the actress is still basking in the success of Padmaavat, despite protests and agitations, the film has crossed the mark of Rs 300 crore.
On Wednesday, Alia said she wants to work will Katrina and Deepika together. Alia said, “For instance, imagine Dil Chahta Hai being remade with three girls today. I’m game for a good chick flick”.
