BSF intercepts Bangladeshi woman crossing border
Amid rising tensions in Bangladesh, reports suggest that some individuals are attempting to cross the India-Bangladesh border illegally, seeking to settle in India.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mehmood who was called back due to alleged harassment by authorities here is set to return to India, officials said on Thursday.
According to reports, Mehmood will be coming back later in the day and will host ‘Pakistan National Day’ function at the Pakistan High Commission in the national capital on Friday.
Pakistan had on March 15 summoned Mehmood to Islamabad to discuss the alleged incidents of harassment of its diplomats by Indian authorities.

However, the spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Raveesh Kumar, had termed it a routine practice dismissing that the High Commissioner was recalled.
On March 18, Pakistani media reports said that Mehmood would not return to India “anytime soon” as the country also pulled out of a World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting to be held in New Delhi next week.
Tensions between the two nations have risen in the past week over allegations of harassment of their diplomats and violation of the Geneva Convention rules.
Pakistan even released a video of such ‘harassment’, in which a white car is seen blocking their diplomat’s vehicle in Delhi as people on motorcycles abuse and film the occupants in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Indian officials too have alleged that life has “very difficult” them in Islamabad.
